Dear Brothers and Sisters:
I'm writing to inform you of a critical issue prior to the meeting of October 9, 2007.
An Arbitration vote is required to move Brother Jimmy Major's case to be heard before an Arbitrator.
YOU MUST ATTEND THIS MEETING IN ORDER TO VOTE.
If the vote is yes, the cost for the case is divided equally between the Union and the County. All dues paying members will be accessed equally to replace funds used for this arbitration case.
The vote will take place ONLY during the general membership meeting Tuesday, October 9th at 5:30 p.m., at Governmental Center 115 South Andrews Avenue - Room 302. This case will be presented from 7:00 p.m., with voting following immediatley;
this will allow members whose workday ends at 6:00 p.m. an opportunity to attend the meeting and vote.
MEETING ATTENDANCE AT THE WEST GOVERNMENTAL CENTER IS VERY LOW, THEREFORE AN ARBITRATION VOTE WILL NOT TAKE PLACE AT THIS LOCATION.
Union meetings are held at this site the 3rd Tuesday of each month to allow those members an opportunity to hear what's going on first hand from the union. However, if membership attendance does not improve, obviously we will cancel out this location for meetings and continue to hold meetings on the 2nd Tuesday at the Governmental Center on Andrews Avenue.
